Setting Up a Postback

Using a third party tracking platform is a great way to optimize and scale your campaigns but getting set up can be a little confusing. In this post, we’re going to show you how to add your postback link and fire a test lead.

Step 1: Add a Campaign

There are a few different tracking platforms that are popular with publishers these days, but we’re going to use Voluum as an example. While the interfaces will be different, the basic concept of how you’re going to integrate with PeerFly is pretty much the same on every platform.

First thing’s first, let’s add an offer!

Just grab your affiliate link from the offer page and paste it into the campaign set up of your tracker.


Step 2: Pass a Click ID Parameter

One of the most common mistakes publishers make is forgetting to pass a click ID. Remember, we cannot postback to your tracking platform if we do not receive a click ID. Voluum gives you the option to select the parameters you would like to pass. To add a sub ID to your PeerFly affiliate link, just use:


If you forget, don’t sweat it. You can use the fields below your affiliate link on the offer page to append any sub ID you might need. 

Here are the click ID parameters for some popular tracking platforms:

BeMob:  {clickId}
ClickMagick: [clickid]
RedTrack: {clickid}

Step 3: Add Your Global Postback

We need to set up a postback with your tracking platform for them to be able to pull your stats from PeerFly. To do so, grab your postback link from your tracking platform. I had a little trouble finding my link on Voluum, so I referred to an old post of Luke’s. 

And add it to PeerFly’s Global Reports page:

To fire your postback, we need you to pass our sub ID variable for whichever sub ID passed the click ID into, usually s1. In that case, you would pass our %subid1% variable into your postback link. For example, here’s the postback link Voluum provided me:

And the postback link I added to PeerFly was:

We recommend setting up global postback instead of using a tracking pixel or an individual offer postback. It’s the most accurate and best of all, you only have to do it once! Make sure you remove any individual postback links before adding a global. 

Step 4: Fire a Test Lead

Almost done! Let’s make sure we did everything correctly by firing a test lead. We can do this right from your PeerFly Dashboard.

From the offer page, just select “Conversion Test” from the Tools Dropdown. 

Then, paste your tracking link into the conversion tester. Your tracking link is not your postback link, it’s the link you’re going to send traffic to. 

Hit submit and the wizard will work it’s magic. Finally, we just need to make sure the test lead tracked on our tracking platform. 

As you can see, we have a conversion so now we’re done! Don’t worry, the test lead will be revoked from your balance on PeerFly after a few minutes. The Conversion Test Wizard doesn’t work in 100% of scenarios, here’s a blog post that goes over some of the most common issues.

    Where to get the tracking link from?

    It is clear from the post that tracking link is not the postback.

    Is it the “Affiliate Link” or maybe it is a different one?

      Hi Sam, your tracking link is generated by your tracking platform and is the link you would send traffic to.
