5 reasons why you should have made the journey to Philadelphia for ASE13, in no particular order:
The food in Philadelphia was simply amazing. Of course, Philly is home to the best Cheesesteaks on the planet (pro tip: choose Lorenzo’s on 9th & Christian over the more touristy Pat and Genos). The delicious food didn’t stop with Cheesesteaks. For breakfast, the Parisian Za at Café La Maude was sex-in-your-mouth-good. Lunches were a little more rushed due to the hectic conference schedule, but Hip City Veg has a killer not-really-chicken Chicken Sandwich. Dinner offered plenty of dining options to choose from. My favorite stops were the Prohibition Taproom (perfect laid back atmosphere, great food and drinks) and Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse (mmmm, steak).
I was recently asked in an interview what the best industry conference is. It is definitively Affiliate Summit, and PeerFly’s experience at ASE13 proved this once again. Each time we exhibit, we make great new partnerships that help us expand and improve our business. Affiliate Summit is also immensely valuable for the opportunity it provides for us to reconnect with our current Affiliates & Clients. It is the ideal time to evaluate current results and develop strategies to increase business with all partners.
Open bars. Slash. Little People. Havana Brown. I will let the pictures speak for themselves on this topic, but the parties are always a great time to relax and mingle with people in a less formal setting. Share-A-Sale did a great job on the Hard Rock party, and it was a blast at the Affiliate Nation party that PeerFly co-sponsored.
Although the PeerFly team was too busy to catch very many of the sessions, there were some amazing ones at ASE13. For those of you who couldn’t make it to the conference, or just missed some of the better presentations, fear not. Most of the presenters have their slides available online. Here are links to slides of the best presentations from ASE13:
11 Things My Son Taught Me About Life & Business – Rae Hoffman @sugarrae
How to Design for Scalability – Amanda Orson @phillian
Get it Done: Leverage Neuroscience To Do More, Faster – Dr. Julie Gurner
Also, video and/or audio of these sessions will be available to attendees with a Networking Plus or higher pass in the next couple of weeks. If you are planning to go to Affiliate Summit in the future, they release a list of sessions and speakers well before the conference date. Use this to add the ones that look most promising to your schedule so you make sure to see them. In my opinion I don’t think you should worry too much about attending sessions non-stop, as the real value is on the floor meeting people and having in-depth 1-on-1 conversations with people.
Philadelphia is a beautiful city and there are a plethora of things to see. The Liberty Bell, Rocky Steps and Statue, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Chinatown, LOVE park, and so much more.
Affiliate Summit 13 in Philadelphia was a huge success, and I am grateful that the PeerFly team had the chance to spend time with so many of our clients, affiliates, and friends. A special shout-out to Amanda for giving us some great suggestions for food and things to do, which made our stay in Philadelphia even more awesome. Thank you to each and everyone that took time to speak with us, and thanks to Shawn and Missy for a great show! I hope to see you all in Las Vegas at ASW14!!!
