New FTC Regulations

The FTC has enacted new regulations effective April 1, 2010 that require that any advertisements containing the words “free credit report” must include a disclosure prominently displayed at the top of the advertisement. This disclosure must be legible, in plain text, placed inside a box with a solid color background which has a color contrast from the original web page. The disclaimer must also be equipped with a clickable button to take consumers to the authorized source and live hyperlinks to both and www.FTC.GOV. Please make sure you update your campaigns and check the creatives you are using to ensure they are compliant with the new regulations.
